About Dimitri

My name is Dimitri. I've been a fullstack developer since 2019, based in Grenoble, at the foot of the mountains.
My path isn't linear — I'm proud of it, and my story reflects well the person and professional I am today.
Placed in child welfare services, I had to build my life brick by brick with resilience and tenacity.
In high school, I was learning PHP with Le Site du Zéro: I was certain I'd become a developer, and I couldn't wait! But when I flew to Tokyo in 2013, I discovered an even stronger passion for aviation. I had no diploma and an empty wallet, but I worked incredibly hard to become an airline pilot. Everything suggested it was beyond my reach, but I ignored all prejudices and barriers to bet on myself and my determination.
I spent four years preparing for an airline pilot license. I had to stop because of my eyesight. This experience confirmed my taste for stress management and high-stakes responsibility.
I pivoted to web development. Since then, I've completed over 40 freelance missions — banking, startups, investment, humanitarian work. What I love: taking over an existing codebase, understanding why it's struggling, and getting it back on its feet. Refactoring, architecture, performance. Making code clearer for those who come after me.
I place great importance on knowledge sharing. Pair programming, code reviews and documentation are powerful tools for any project, and for any developer.
Outside of code: I'm learning Japanese and sign language, I care about animal welfare, and I love music.
